Voice Authentication (VA) Software
Voice authentication is only one of a number of biometric technologies, others including those that match a person's iris, face, fingerprint, hand geometry or signature, that are being deployed in a number of applications to verify the identity of a person. What makes voice authentication unique is that it is able to be deployed for telephony-related applications including call centres to verify the identity of a person who is calling through the telephone network.
At this point the distinction must be made between voice authentication (VA) and voice identification. VA seeks to authenticate a person who has already identified himself or herself whereas voice identification technology seeks to identify a person against a database of voice samples from known staff or customers.
Consulting Projects Involving Voice Authentication
Occidental Communications has undertaken assignments advising clients on the potential for the use of speech technologies. For more details, see the Call Centre Consulting page.
International Directory
This directory is of developers of voice authentication software. In contrast to other Internet sites that purport to be directories of voice authentication software, this directory does not include any integrators, consultants, conference organisers, magazines, distributors or providers of products related to voice authentication. Every one of the companies listed has developed the voice authentication software listed therein - they are not integrators or incorporators of voice authentication software developed by others.
