Iskenda Kebab
You can buy this dish in any Turkish or Lebanese restaurant, but it is a very quick an easy meal to prepare at home. OK, this recipe does use meat from a takeaway shop, but this is a delicious meal that can be prepared in as little as 15 minutes.

Ingredients

glamb or beef from the spit at your local Lebanese takeaway

mltomato sauce

mlpesto

mlchilli paste

mlblack pepper

gyoghurt

mlwhite rice

mlfresh parsley

Method
Boil water and add the rice. Chop the parsley. Place the meat on paper towels, microwave for a minute and press between the paper to remove excess fat. Place the yoghurt in a bowl and stir until it is runny.

Warm the tomato paste in a saucepan, and add the pesto, chilli and pepper. Add the meat and stir until hot. Place the rice on the plates, cover with the meat and sauce mixture and cover this with yoghurt. Garnish with parsley.

Note: The traditional dish is served on a pita bread and this can be used instead of rice.
